PERSONAL BIO
About the Artist
Gelovna is an erotic surrealist—not in the expected sense, though her work does not shy away from explicitness. Even in the absence of the body, desire persists. Her practice is not concerned with decoration, but disruption: each piece is created to interrupt a space, shift its atmosphere, and command attention. Through a collision of surrealism, erotic tension, and intricate detail, her work draws the viewer in, unsettles them, and lingers far beyond the initial encounter.
Working across painting, sculpture, and handcrafted jewelry, Gelovna constructs visual experiences that are both visceral and psychological. Her compositions, though at times chaotic in appearance, are meticulously intentional—guiding the viewer through layered narratives that unfold slowly. The closer one looks, the more the work reveals: symbols, hidden elements, and embedded tensions that transform each piece into something not only seen, but felt.
Her work confronts what is often suppressed—desire shaped by shame, pleasure disciplined by culture, and the fragile boundary between instinct and control. Sensuality in her practice is not ornamental; it is complex, sometimes unsettling, and deeply human. There is a persistent duality present: beauty intertwined with distortion, intimacy shadowed by unease, tenderness complicated by power.
From an early age, Gelovna was immersed in environments charged with raw erotic energy through her father’s strip clubs—spaces that exposed her to the vulnerability, performance, and unfiltered realities of desire. These experiences became foundational, shaping her understanding of eroticism as both power and contradiction. Rather than distancing herself from these influences, she channels them directly into her work, refusing to sanitize or soften their impact.
Her approach remains deliberately independent. Rejecting the pressures of trend and the constraints of traditional art systems, she engages directly with collectors who understand that her work is not passive—it holds presence. Each piece exists as part of an evolving body of work growing in depth, complexity, and value, collected not simply as objects, but as entries into an ongoing trajectory.
Gelovna does not create out of preference, but necessity. Her work is inseparable from how she sees, thinks, and experiences the world. It does not seek approval or easy interpretation. Instead, it asks something more demanding: not whether it is understood, but whether it is felt—and whether the viewer is willing to keep looking.
Currently, Gelovna has completed the E.E. (Explicit Erotica) collection for a client. In November 2025, she will begin a Paris series of four to five paintings inspired by the city’s atmosphere and focused on romantic, star-crossed love stories with a deepened approach for eroticism of each one. Looking ahead, she states her ambition clearly: to become the first great philosopher-artist born in the 21st century.
Gelovna is a remarkable artist whose journey to prominence has been shaped by both personal tragedy and an unwavering dedication to her craft. Born on January 17, 2003, in Khabarovsk, Russia, Gelovna hails from a unique cultural background, being part Georgian and part Siberian. She is an only child, a detail that perhaps reflects the intensity of her character and her early, singular focus on becoming a globally renowned artist. From a young age, she displayed an exceptional eagerness to pursue art, a dream fostered by a profound connection to both her parents, who were both artists in their own right. Her mother, an extraordinary tailor and craftswoman, instilled in her a deep appreciation for meticulous craftsmanship, while her father, an accomplished painter and sculptor in his youth, passed on a gift for visual expression that would later define Gelovna's own work.
Gelovna’s childhood was anything but conventional. She spent her early years traveling throughout Southeast Asia with her parents, a nomadic existence that expanded her worldview and served as an essential foundation for the diverse range of ideas and influences that would later inform her art. These travels were contrasted by her time in Russia, where she often found herself in the unconventional environment of her father's strip clubs, which spanned from Vladivostok to South Korea. These contrasting worlds of beauty and shadow provided Gelovna with a unique lens through which she would later interpret and engage with life’s more complex themes.
In 2011, Gelovna's family was forced to migrate to the United States following a series of harrowing events involving threats from the Russian government and the KGB due to her father's refusal to cooperate with state demands. This deeply traumatic experience, marked by blackmail and a profound sense of fear for their safety, led to the family settling in Miami.
However, tragedy struck again in 2019 when Gelovna’s father died in a horrific car accident. This loss profoundly impacted her, causing her to abandon her artistic aspirations temporarily. In the wake of his death, Gelovna chose to leave her sophomore year of high school to financially support her mother, whose grief was compounded by the sudden loss of her partner. The following years saw Gelovna retreat from her craft, grieving not only her father’s untimely death but also the dreams he had for her as an artist.
It wasn’t until 2022 that Gelovna found the courage and strength to return to painting, reigniting her pursuit of becoming an artist—a path she had always known she was destined to follow. With her father's memory and his unfulfilled dreams as both a guiding light and a form of tribute, Gelovna began to embrace her unique worldview once more. The profound experiences of her life—marked by displacement, loss, and resilience—are now embedded into her art, which challenges conventional perceptions and offers an unapologetically bold exploration of beauty, complexity, and existence.
Gelovna’s work is a testament to her artistic heritage and her unwavering commitment to her craft. She stands as a beacon for a new generation of artists—one who does not shy away from exploring the depths of human experience with raw honesty and remarkable vision. Her art is not simply a reflection of her journey but a continuing evolution, pushing boundaries and inviting all who encounter it to see the world through her eyes.
"I chose the path of art for a number of reasons, and some are personal but I can confidently declare that I will become the first great philosopher-artist individual born in the 21st century, and yes, I am different from all of the others; an emblem of Generation Z. While I know that many of my peers around the world possess genuine uniqueness, too many are merely aimless, foolish, and lazy, caught in a cycle of self-pity and seeking sympathy. You may perceive me as arrogant, but I refuse to stoop to the moral lows of my generation, even in my most vulnerable moments. So be it.
In addition I want to specify that I never judge. I am not divine myself, and those who have encountered me at one point might describe my essence as nothing short of provocative. Wont lie, I secretly enjoy it. But judgment is the most foul emotion one can experience."
